We are seeking a Network Engineer with deep expertise in wireless technologies and routing/switching to join our team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and advancing our enterprise network infrastructure, with a focus on high-performance wireless networks and resilient route/switch configurations. A strong understanding of wireless architectures and advanced routing protocols is essential for success in this role.
This role requires a proven track record of designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex wired and wireless network infrastructures in a dynamic enterprise environment. You will lead initiatives involving the evaluation, recommendation, and integration of next-generation networking solutions.

You will lead initiatives involving the evaluation, recommendation, and integration of next-generation networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust wired and wireless network infrastructures across the enterprise, including switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, mesh bridges, and monitoring platforms.
- Ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of LAN/WAN and wireless networks, with an emphasis on VLAN segmentation, QoS, and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot wireless coverage, interference, roaming, and authentication issues across diverse environments (warehouse, office, industrial).
- Manage and secure enterprise-class routing and switching platforms from major vendors (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc.).
- Develop, enforce, and monitor network security standards for wireless and routed infrastructures, including WPA3 policies, 802.1X, and firewall integrations.
- Collaborate with OT teams on integrating network infrastructure with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and I/O controllers, ensuring seamless communication between IT and OT networks.
- Support SD-WAN and advanced WAN technologies such as iWAN, DMVPN, and application-aware routing for remote connectivity.
- Lead lifecycle management for wireless and routing hardware, including procurement, deployment, and retirement of network assets.
- Maintain VOIP and video conferencing infrastructure, ensuring performance and QoS standards across wireless and wired networks.
- Serve as a point of escalation for network-related incidents, including after-hours support.
- Maintain detailed network documentation, including wireless heatmaps, switch/router configs, and network topology diagrams.
- Stay current with emerging wireless and route/switch technologies, leveraging documentation and technical resources for continuous self-improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in IT or related field required; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in enterprise network engineering with an emphasis on wireless and route/switch technologies.
- Industry certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CWNP, Aruba Certified Mobility Professional).
- Expert-level knowledge of:
- Wireless technologies (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), controller-based architectures, mesh networks, wireless security standards, and site survey tools.
- Enterprise routing and switching (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, trunking, tagging, QoS, static/dynamic routing).
- Hands-on experience with Next-Gen Firewalls, IPS policies, and network segmentation.
- Experience with SD-WAN and/or DMVPN highly desirable.
- Proficient in deploying and managing virtualized network environments (VMware preferred).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS) and applying them to network infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and lead network-related projects.
- Ability to travel up to 10% (primarily within or outside Ohio)
