Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will provide advanced technical support to end-users across the organization, ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems, hardware, and software. You will also mentor junior support staff, lead technical projects, and serve as a key escalation point for complex issues.

Essential Skills And Functions



  • Provide tier 2 and 3 desktop support to resolve hardware, software, and networking issues for end-users.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment.

  • Maintain and support Microsoft Windows and macOS environments, including imaging and patch management.

  • Administer Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise applications and tools.

  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding, including account creation, equipment provisioning, and access configuration.

  • Lead or participate in IT projects such as hardware rollouts, system upgrades, and migrations.

  • Document technical procedures and knowledge base articles for internal use.

  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.

  • Maintain asset inventory and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.

  • Train and mentor junior support staff to improve service delivery and technical skills.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure alignment and support across infrastructure and security initiatives.

  • Actively manage small scale projects

  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills

  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor

  • All employees are required to adhere to ISO and OHSAS policies established by FMG and shall have high values for safety awareness

  • Other duties as assigned

Education And Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).

  • 6 years of experience in desktop support, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and Active Directory.

  • Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
