Job Description Summary:
The Enterprise Architect provides technical leadership, design and direction for all functional areas within the Corporate Information Technology Directorate and is responsible from creation to implementation of all technical services to align with strategic and tactical plans of the division's vision and mission. In this role, the incumbent will serve as the lead technologist providing architecture solutions, and working across all technical groups within corporate IT, will deliver enterprise class production services to support Draper and its sponsor-partner communities. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to navigate complex technological landscapes and drive digital transformation for the current and future services and architecture required to meet Draper needs, goals, and strategic direction.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee implementation of enterprise-wide technology solutions: Taking responsibility for the design, development, and delivery of integrated systems, applications, and platforms that meet the organization's strategic needs. Oversee the integration of applications, data, and technology across the organization: Ensuring that different systems, applications, and data sources can communicate and share information seamlessly
  • Strategic planning and architecture development: Create and maintain a structured approach for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, aligned with its business goals and objectives. Translate business goals and needs into actionable technology plans and architecture solutions.
  • Work collaboratively across Corporate IT's technical groups; Server OSes, Storage, Networking, Cloud, Virtualization, and Client Services to ensure seamless infrastructure design to production implementation and sustainment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to IT staff: Share expertise and knowledge, promote best practices with IT managers, and mentor engineers and system administrators.
  • Lead the development of IT architecture standards and guidelines: Establishing consistent standards and best practices for architecture design, development, and implementation across the enterprise.
  • Assess existing systems and identify areas for improvement and cost savings by analyzing the organization's current IT landscape to identify inefficiencies, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for modernization.
  • Lead the architecture strategy for major initiatives: Guide digital transformation, e.g. cloud migration, ERP implementations, identity management, secure file collaboration etc. to ensure they align with the enterprise architecture vision and business need.
  • Define and enforce policies and procedures that ensure IT architectural decisions align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure IT systems and processes comply with regulatory and security requirements. (DFARs, NIST Instruction sets, CMMC)

Skills/Abilities
  • Strong technical hands-on experience and deep understanding with designing and implementing for the following technologies: Windows and Linux OS Servers, Server Virtualization, Identity Management Technologies (MIM, Okta, AD, MFA etc.), Certificate Authority (SSL Certs and Encryption), IT Automation solutions, Storage and Back-Up environments.
  • A deep understanding and proven track record for implementing Cloud Computing to include commercial and AWS GovCloud, Corporate IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, MS O365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive etc.).
  • Familiarity and interest in Artificial Intelligence concepts, industry trends and impacts to IT services and the corporate enterprise.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across multiple IT groups and management within Corporate IT, laterally with the corporation's functional stakeholders and upward with executive leadership.
  • Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen: The ability to understand the bigger picture, align IT strategies with business objectives, anticipate future needs, and demonstrate the value of IT investments.
  • Develop project plans, architecture diagrams, requirement documentation, test plans, change requests, and communication to users
  • Creating and maintaining Enterprise Architecture Frameworks for structuring and managing the architecture process.
  • Understanding data modeling, structures and integration for different storage mechanisms with the ability to integrate disparate systems and data sources seamlessly.
  • Proven track record implementing Infrastructure Architecture in fulfillment of government compliance security standards and controls (DFARS, CMMC etc.)
  • The capacity to adapt to new technologies, business models, and market demands in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Communication and Presentation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build consensus and sell solutions

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or other relevant degree required

Experience
  • Requires 10 or more years of experience designing and implementing enterprise class production service for a corporate IT environment

Additional Job Description:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is
$117,500.00 - $293,750.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
