About the Role: Forward Deployed Engineer (San Francisco)

We re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our San Francisco team. In this high-impact role, you ll serve as the technical bridge between our company and our customer, designing, deploying, and scaling real-world AI solutions that drive business value. This opportunity is a 9x9x6 weekly work schedule. This is an opportunity to be part of the founding team in a fast-growing AI company which gives great opportunity for equity and career advancement. At some point the hours will reduce to something more standard however.

What You ll Do

Lead Customer Engagements: Own technical relationships end-to-end, run discovery sessions, demos, align on goals, and act as the key point of contact to drive timelines and resolve blockers.
Deploy Intelligent AI Agents: Build production-ready systems, work with data pipelines, backend services, third-party integrations, and deploy to cloud infrastructure.
Own the Agent Lifecycle: Rapidly prototype, implement CI/CD workflows, monitor live usage, iterate toward key outcomes, and document for future scalability.
Troubleshoot & Optimize: Debug live systems, tune models, enforce reliability and latency standards, and ensure operational excellence.
Drive Product Feedback Loops: Capture unmet needs, prototype new capabilities, and collaborate with core engineering teams to evolve the platform for all customers.

What We re Looking For

Technical Excellence: Strong Python experience and a proven ability to build production systems.
Customer-Centric Mindset: Excellent communication skills and experience working in customer-facing or cross-functional roles.
Academic Background: Degree in Computer Science or related field, especially from a top-tier program (more relevant if you're earlier in your career).
Startup Mentality: Prefer candidates with experience in early-stage companies, former founders are especially encouraged to apply.
Resilient & Driven: Comfortable with long, focused work sessions and thriving in high-ownership environments.
Professional Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
