Job Summary

The Mobile Developer II is an advanced position on the IS Mobile Platform team. The role utilizes strong knowledge in mobile application development to develop and maintain CareOregon's mobile applications, influence and recommend solutions to complement business strategies, and help create a new suite of secure and well documented widgets for our member facing applications. The position will work on the next version of the component library, building on the existing components. In addition, the role will spend substantial time evaluating, architecting, and implementing IS mobile solutions (plan, design, install, and maintain).

Essential Responsibilities

Application and Mobile Design

  • Actively participate in the design of internal and external mobile application development.
  • Implement a new design language from the ground up using React Native best practices.
  • Take ownership of work items and help cultivate new ones with a product-first mindset.
  • Provide advanced application and Mobile development knowledge to the organization, participate and consult on projects.
  • Advise other IS teams on best practices.
  • Participate in the ongoing review of existing systems to ensure designs are compliant.


Application and Mobile Development

  • Develop mobile applications and websites for moderate to advanced activities.
  • Follow a scrum agile approach to keep dev tasks planned, groomed, and sized
  • Test React Native components on multiple form factors and platforms from mobile to web
  • Resolve/fix defects and/or issues identified by internal or external users of mobile applications
  • Develop moderate to advanced databases to meet application and Mobile needs.
  • Analyze business needs.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate technology documentation, including current design and operation
  • Propose requirement, standards, and best practices for application and Mobile development.


Vendor Coordinator and Relations

  • Conduct product and vendor research, and present recommendations to lead developer and/or management.
  • Establish and maintain effective relations with vendors and related equipment suppliers, including installation and repair of services.

Experience and/or Education

Required

  • Minimum 3 years' mobile application development experience including the following:


  • Mobile application development using tools and technologies (listed below)
  • Support, troubleshooting and maintenance of mobile applications
  • Database development and maintenance
  • Systems analysis and design
  • Agile/Scrum methodology


  • Experience creating and releasing commercial iOS and Android applications for public and private use
  • Experience working with offshore teams and on projects with tight deadlines


Preferred

  • Additional experience in related technology support and/or operations positions
  • Experience with event-driven system architectures
  • Experience with domain-driven design within distributed systems
  • Exposure to following is desired
