The Office of Academic Solutions and Information Systems (OASIS) at the Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a dynamic and innovative IT Analyst, Senior - Research Demand Strategy Lead to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will directly engage with Researchers, Principal Investigators, and Operational leaders across the Duke University School of Medicine (SOM) and Duke Health Technology Solutions (DHTS) during all or part of the Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC). As a member of the RTS Office, you will work with customers in diverse domain areas (Medical Education, Basic Sciences, Translational Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Population Health, Administration, Data), handling multiple initiatives and thriving in a collaborative environment. You will be the Researcher's trusted partner, advocate, and change agent, driving impactful solutions and innovations.

As the IT Analyst, Senior - Research Demand Strategy Lead, you will drive strategic initiatives and ensure the efficient delivery of research technology solutions at Duke. You will conduct stakeholder interviews to identify and prioritize objectives, oversee projects to ensure they meet schedules and budgets, and manage the service portfolio by documenting and promoting new service offerings.
Additionally, you will streamline the demand process by efficiently collecting and analyzing intake requests, collaborating with experts to ideate solutions, and consulting with project leaders and vendors to implement plans. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related STEM field required*
- *Acceptable substitute is a Bachelors in Business with 10 years of relevant experience
- Master's/Ph.D. degree preferred in Business or related STEM field
- 10 or more years operating in an IT consulting and/or IT Relationship Management role
- 5 or more years of experience operating in a Healthcare, Academic Medical Center, Research, Life Sciences, or regulated field
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Information Technologies in support of Research
- Strong Program, Project, Service, and Portfolio Management skills
- General knowledge of cloud-based technology services (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS)
- General knowledge of quality management methodologies (OE/L6S/TQM) and best practices
- Capable of working with a matrixed organization
- General knowledge of current issues and challenges facing healthcare and research
- A self-motivated, determined, and relentless pursuit of results
- Expert-level presentation skills
- Exceptional customer engagement and collaboration skills
- General knowledge of Research Management Systems, Clinical Trial Management Systems, or equivalent
Major Accountabilities:
- Strategic Planning
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, identify and prioritize OASIS RTS strategic objectives, and recommend initiatives needed to achieve them.
- Plan and monitor the execution of DHTS demand, ensuring projects adhere to schedules, specifications, and budgets.
- Provide periodic reviews of strategic objectives and initiatives to achieve them with SOM stakeholders.
- Service Portfolio Management
- Identify Services that should be included in the Service Catalog.
- Document the Service offering in terms familiar to the audience.
- Ensure all stakeholders sign-off on the Service offering.
- Ensure the publication of new Service Offering.
- Maintain published Service Offerings.
- Assist in communication and promotion of the Service Offering.
- DHTS Demand Process
- Manage the components of the intake process to ensure that necessary details are collected efficiently and are available for other stakeholders downstream in the intake and DHTS demand processes.
- Conduct scoping and requirements gathering activities to assess and understand intake requests such that appropriate analysis and routing of requests can be completed.
- Conduct solution ideation and analysis in concert with applicable subject matter experts, technical leads, or architects.
- Consult with applicable project leaders, vendors, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to devise implementation plans and transition oversight to them for execution of implementation plans.
- Apply Program Management & Project Management discipline to initiatives within an assigned portfolio and assigned project phase ensuring they are delivered on-time, at-cost, and on-spec.
