Position: Sr. Data Architect
Location: San Ramon, CA (On-site)
Key Responsibilities:
· Architect, design, and guide the implementation of scalable and secure data platforms
· using BigQuery, Looker, and Google Cloud Platform-native services.
· Collaborate with CSG stakeholders to define data migration roadmaps, semantic
· models, and performance benchmarks.
· Optimize BigQuery datasets using partitioning, clustering, and materialized views to
· enhance query performance and cost efficiency.
· Drive best practices around LookML modeling, self-service dashboarding, and data
· governance in Looker.
· Provide thought leadership around data architecture patterns, data lineage, access
· control, and data cataloging.
· Ensure alignment with Google Cloud’s Well-Architected Framework forsecurity,
· reliability, and operational excellence.
· Work with AMS teams to integrate with application-layer data (e.g., Oracle Fusion, CRM
· systems) and support production stability.
· Mentor engineering teams and support code reviews, framework creation, and
· migration accelerators.
· Collaborate with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams for CI/CD, Terraform-based
· infrastructure, and automated testing pipelines.
Qualification
· 15+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3+ years on Google Cloud Platform.
· Deep knowledge of BigQuery optimization, data modeling, cost management, and query tuning.
· Hands-on experience with Looker development (LookML) and dashboard governance.
· Familiarity with Google Data Catalog, Dataform, Composer, and Data Fusion.
· Experience with enterprise-grade systems such as Oracle Fusion and understanding of AMS practices.
· Ability to guide migration from Power BI to Looker, preserving business logic and improving accessibility.
· Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and solutioning skills across cross-functional teams.
· Comfortable working in an agile, sprint-based model with distributed teams.
