Senior Test Engineer Engine Test | Seymour, IN

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Test Engineer to join our Engine Test team in Seymour, Indiana. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in the shop, understands the details of engine control systems, and has a builder's mindset-whether gained through formal training or years of experience with engines, trucks, cars, or machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support engineering projects within the Engine Test area

  • Troubleshoot PLCs, engine control systems (e.g., Comptek), mechanical fixtures, and fluid handling systems

  • Review, modify, and implement manufacturing/test processes

  • Serve as project lead for ER, PQP, RFT, BIS, and HSE issue resolution

  • Coordinate new equipment and process implementation with suppliers and Skilled Trades

  • Mentor team members and lead 1 3 hourly Advanced Manufacturing Associates (AMA)

  • Support production assembly operations and participate in design reviews

  • Drive plant initiatives and continuous improvement through cross-functional collaboration

What We're Looking For
  • 5 7 years in engineering or technician roles (manufacturing, mechanical systems, or engine test)

  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems, PLCs, engine controls, fluid handling

  • Programming/control systems background; familiarity with Comptek a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in EE, EET, ME, MET (or equivalent experience-design-focused or strong technical track record considered)

  • Leadership ability-mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and independent project execution

  • Comfortable working in a shop/test environment, solving complex mechanical issues
