Job Details
Role: Project Manager
Location: Atlanta GA or Santa Clara, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
o Lead end-to-end project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
o Develop and maintain project schedules, scope, risks, and budget.
o Coordinate cross-functional teams
o Manage project resources and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Business Analysis:
o Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document project requirements.
o Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
o Facilitate requirement review sessions and obtain sign-offs from all relevant parties.
o Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Oversight:
o Provide guidance and oversight on Hadoop-based solutions and architecture.
o Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure technical feasibility of solutions.
o Identify opportunities to leverage Hadoop ecosystem components (e.g., HDFS, Hive, Pig, Spark, HBase) for business needs.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
o Act as the primary point of contact between business and technical teams.
o Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
o Prepare and present project status reports, roadmaps, and post-implementation reviews.
Required Skills and Experience:
7+ years of experience in IT Project Management.
Proven experience in interacting with business users to gather and document requirements.
Strong technical background in Big Data with hands-on understanding of Hadoop ecosystem.
Familiarity with data processing, ETL pipelines, and large-scale distributed data systems.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of data governance, data quality, and compliance standards.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
