Need Cognos Report developer
6 to 12 months remote project
Must have Health Plan / Health Payer Experience of 3+ years
Key Responsibilities:
- Cognos Report and Dashboard Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos Analytics (v11 or higher).
- Work with Framework Manageras needed.
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Collaborate with business users to refine and document report/dashboard requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, testable technical specifications for Cognos development.
- Unit Testing and UAT Support:
- Perform comprehensive unit testingto validate data accuracy, report logic, filters, prompts, and formatting.
- Support business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT)by:
- Explaining report behavior and data logic.
- Troubleshooting user-reported discrepancies.
- Adjusting report functionality to align with evolving business expectations.
- SQL & Data Interaction:
- Write and optimize complex SQL queriesto source and validate data for reports.
- Work with Oracle databasesand other data sources to ensure robust, reliable reporting outputs.
- Communication & Documentation:
- Provide clear, timely updates through ticketing systems and project tracking tools such as Report Tracking Database (RTD).
- Maintain detailed documentation on report logic, data sources, business rules, and user instructions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project managers, project lead, analysts to align on timelines and priorities.
- Quickly onboard to new projects and manage deliverables with minimal supervision.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 7 yearsof experience in Cognos report/dashboard development
- 5-7 yearsof SQL development experience
- 4-6 yearsworking with Oracle databases
- 3-5 yearsexperience working for Health Plans
- Strong experience building reports using Cognos Analytics
- Proven ability to perform end-to-end report testingand support UAT efforts.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially within distributed teamsusing Teams and other communication tools.
