At Vertex IT Systems We are seeking a Senior DevOps Architect with strong hands-on experience in building, scaling, and securing cloud-native applications. This role will be pivotal in shaping our infrastructure strategy, leading CI/CD automation efforts, implementing robust security and compliance standards, and mentoring the broader engineering team. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, performance, and reliability, with a keen eye for scalability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and manage scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure environments primarily in AWS.
Lead CI/CD pipeline development using tools such as Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar.
Develop infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
Maintain and optimize Kubernetes workloads with strong knowledge of networking, security, and monitoring best practices.
Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot CDNs such as CloudFront, Akamai, etc.
Collaborate with software engineering and QA teams to support smooth deployments.
Automate operational workflows and system configurations using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go, Node.js, or PowerShell).
Ensure system compliance and implement security best practices across cloud environments.
Lead technical discussions and provide architectural guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
Create detailed documentation for systems, processes, and deployment pipelines.
Required Skills:
8+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
Strong proficiency in:
Kubernetes
AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, EKS, etc.)
Linux administration
CI/CD tools and practices
Configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Chef)
Scripting (e.g., bash, Node.js, Python, Go, or PowerShell)
Proven experience with CDN technologies like CloudFront, Akamai, or others.
Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and disaster recovery planning.
Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers effectively.
A customer-obsessed mindset focused on enabling teams for success.
Good-to-Have :
Expertise with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Deep experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
Experience developing backend code in Go or Node.js.
Strong interest or experience in writing complete and clear documentation.
One or more AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.)
