Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our team in Bowie, Maryland. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and maintaining the organization's hardware, software, and IT systems while ensuring optimal connectivity and security. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to various IT initiatives and collaborate with technical teams to enhance infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and oversee the organization's hardware inventory to ensure accurate tracking and optimal usage.
Manage internet connectivity and mobile devices for staff, addressing any technical issues that arise.
Perform regular maintenance on laptops and supporting hardware/software to ensure functionality.
Administer and renew maintenance contracts for hardware and software to ensure uninterrupted services.
Research, obtain quotes, and purchase new hardware and software based on organizational needs.
Monitor and ensure compliance with software licensing requirements.
Collaborate with the Senior System Administrator on tasks such as network hardware upgrades, hardware expansion, and cybersecurity projects.
Develop and implement plans for IT infrastructure improvements and backup storage solutions.
Troubleshoot hardware failures and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
Execute other IT-related tasks as required to support operational goals.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or related roles.
Proficiency in Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and other Cisco technologies.
Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and firewall management.
Familiarity with AWS technologies and configuration management practices.
Expertise in cybersecurity principles and Ethernet network systems.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows, including Windows 10.
Ability to conduct audits and perform AB testing to ensure system reliability.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
