Working Title: Server Admin
Job Location: 100% Remote, With-in Texas
Job Description:
- Will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks.
- Will diagnose and resolve problems quickly to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Ideal candidate should have a strong background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure server hardware and software.
- Manage Windows and Linux servers and technology tools.
- Monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by users or identified through monitoring tools.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Maintain security through access controls, backups, firewalls, etc.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models as necessary.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role (minimum of 4 years).
- Experience with Microsoft Teams calling
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows/Linux) platforms.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- The ideal candidate should possess proficiency in server management tools, along with a strong understanding of server OS.
- Analytical skills are crucial, including the ability to analyze system logs for troubleshooting purposes and the capacity to identify potential issues before they become critical problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple projects simultaneously, and effective problem-solving abilities under pressure are vital.
- The candidate must also be able to work collaboratively with other IT staff and departments.
