Solutions Architecture Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Solutions Architecture Manager to support Department of Defense (DoD) engineering initiatives. This role is fully remote, with occasional on-site meetings (monthly at most), and requires residency in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., or Colorado.

You'll lead a small, high-performing team of 4-5 engineers and architects, working closely with leadership to design, develop, and implement secure, scalable technical solutions aligned with federal compliance standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of solutions architects and engineers.
  • Oversee the design and execution of technical solutions for DoD contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and federal standards, including EIS contracts.
  • Architect and support networking infrastructure (Layers 1-4, IP VPN, DIA, Ethernet, Dark Fiber).
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Engage occasionally with the capture team to support pre-sales and proposal efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • 7-10+ years of experience in DoD-related engineering or architecture roles.
  • Proven management or team leadership experience.
  • Strong technical background in network architecture and telecom infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with EIS (Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions) contracts.
  • Experience with technologies such as Dark Fiber, IP VPN, DIA, Ethernet, Layers 1-4.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Zero Trust frameworks, cybersecurity, or international deployments.
Interview Process
  • 30-minute virtual interview with the Director of DoD Engineering.
  • 45-minute panel interview with the engineering team.
