Job Title: Power BI Developer
Location: Remote (LATAM only)

Rate: $30/hr

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to support reporting, analytics, and data visualization initiatives for Abbott Labs. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Power BI development, data modeling, DAX, and stakeholder collaboration, along with the ability to support and maintain enterprise BI solutions in a production environment.

Core Responsibilities – Development & Analysis

  • Collaborate with business users and analysts to gather reporting and analytics requirements

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and BI solutions

  • Design and develop robust data models connecting to multiple data sources (SQL, Azure, etc.)

  • Perform data transformation and cleansing using Power Query (M language)

  • Develop interactive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop

  • Publish and manage reports in Power BI Service

  • Write complex DAX measures and calculated columns for advanced analytics

  • Optimize report performance, query efficiency, and data refresh times

  • Implement data governance standards including Row-Level Security (RLS) and access controls

Core Responsibilities – Support & Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to reports, datasets, refresh failures, and connectivity

  • Provide end-user support, training, and guidance on Power BI features and best practices

  • Schedule and monitor report refreshes and data pipelines

  • Manage and monitor Power BI gateways

  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation for reports, datasets, and processes

  • Work with ticketing tools such as Jira and ServiceNow to manage incidents and requests

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Power BI Developer

  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis

  • Strong expertise in Power Query (M), DAX, and data modeling

  • Experience working with enterprise BI environments

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
