Position Summary
The Manger, Data Management plays a critical role in delivering a unified vision for data governance, data quality, and records management, GIS, across Vegetation Management. This person ensures that vegetation data and records are traceable, verifiable, accurate and complete to ensure accurate decision-making and meet regulatory oversight requirements. The manager will build relationships within Vegetation Management and collaborate across various lines of business, and with external partners to align and deliver jointly owned goals. The manager will be responsible for building the technology, process, people, and documentation to fulfill regulatory commitments and improve data maturity.
In addition to execution, this role will shape the strategic direction of how data is governed, used, and trusted across PG&E. The manager will lead initiatives that foster a culture of data ownership, and enable consistent, insight-driven operation. Those initiatives will require the manager to lead cross-functional coordination and hold commitment to data integrity and regulatory excellence.
Salary Range:
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, particular skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.
Bay Area Minimum: $129,000
Bay Area Maximum: $207,000

California Minimum: $123,000
California Maximum: $197,000
This job can also include participation in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to report to their assigned office location at least one day per week. The remaining days may be worked remotely, depending on business needs. The headquarters is in Oakland, CA.
Job Responsibilities
Anticipate organizational needs and proactively communicate updates, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Develop and maintain performance metrics and dashboards to monitor project progress, data quality
Provides leadership on department-wide data ownership initiatives.
Drives delivery of data standards and quality to meet regulatory commitments.
Oversee the delivery of technology solutions, including metadata tools, lineage tracking, and data cataloging platforms.
Proactively manage and grow a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, performance development, and recognition.
Provides leadership with vision, roadmap, delivery of technology products and processes to enact technology change.
This is a leadership position requiring strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and adaptability.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Econometrics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or job-related discipline, or equivalent experience
2+ years of leadership experience
6+ years of job-related experience
Desired:
Experience leading initiatives in data governance, data management and records management
Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and gain alignment from senior leaders, team members, and stakeholders
Hands-on experience with data governance tools such as Collibra
Experience with cloud-based data platforms including Snowflake
Experience in implementing or supporting Master Data Management (MDM) programs
