Job Details

Large Oil and Gas company located in Midland, TX is seeking a Sr Maintenance Planner for a long-term contract assignment within a large corporate IT department. This role will be responsible for developing, improving, and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans. This role ensures that maintenance work is planned, scheduled, and executed with maximum efficiency and minimal downtime, supporting asset reliability and plant performance.
Must be available to work 5 days/week onsite in Midland, TX as customer interaction is very beneficial. Therefore, must be a Houston based candidate within a commutable distance.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Required Skills & Experience
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 15 years in maintenance or reliability roles, including 5+ years in a maintenance planning capacity.
  • Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Infor), Microsoft Excel, and planning tools (MS Project, Primavera).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Background in industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, utilities, or chemical processing.
  • Certifications (preferred): Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), CMMS certification, OSHA 30.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans including materials, tools, labor, and procedures.
  • Maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accurate asset data, maintenance records, and schedules.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, engineering, and external vendors.
  • Plan and schedule preventive and predictive maintenance tasks based on equipment history and reliability data.
  • Lead weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings; ensure alignment with operations.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior planners and maintenance staff.
  • Review completed work orders for accuracy, quality, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning, maintenance strategies, and reliability programs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
