We are seeking a dedicated Junior Payroll Accountant to join their diverse team that makes a difference every day!



Pay: Up to $44/hr.

Schedule: 8am - 5pm

Fully Remote



Key Responsibilities:


  • Payroll tax compliance

  • Monitor and resolve tax notices, amendments, and rate changes (SUI, SDI, local).

  • Maintain FEIN/state IDs and registration status across jurisdictions.

  • Reconciliations and accounting

  • Assist Accounting with GL-bank account reconciliations for wages, taxes, benefits, withholdings, and cash accounts each pay cycle and month-end.

  • Reconcile year-to-date balances to quarterly returns and W-2s; support year-end tie-outs.

  • Reporting and support

  • Produce payroll metrics, variance analyses, and audit support schedules.

  • Serve as a point of contact for internal finance and accounting stakeholders.


Required Qualifications:


  • 3-5 years payroll accounting experience with focus on payroll taxes, reconciliations, and GL accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state payroll tax rules, filings, and deadlines.

  • Skilled in reconciling payroll sub-ledgers, with solid understanding of debits, credits, and accruals.

  • Experience with payroll systems (Workday), ERP/accounting tools (SAP), and advanced Excel/Sheets (lookups, pivots, reconciliations).

  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to meet deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Multi-entity or multi-state payroll experience.

  • Familiarity with automated tax services (ADP SmartCompliance), third-party benefits administrators, and HRIS/file integrations (Workday).

  • Experience supporting audits (financial, SOC, compliance).
