Apex Systems is hiring for a Network Security Engineer role to start work with our healthcare client.

Job description
Applies cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation on key network security and netflow security tools).
Analyzes, streamlines, and automates operational tasks and processes to protect companys network infrastructure and components against adversaries as well as helping build network security systems and solutions.
Defines network security standards as well as implements and maintains technologies to measure conformance against network security standards.
The ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelors degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).
2 - 4 years of related experience.
Experience with Network security technologies (ex., Firewalls, proxy, and DNS environments)
Knowledge of Network security tools like Wireshark, Snort, Nagios, etc.
Day to day will include:
Write scripting code within Python and working with firewalls daily.
This position will contribute to the development and refinement of solutions to support daily operations and improve our firewall monitoring.
Performance involves working towards team success.
This position is different than most network security engineers because it involves the coding and automation side of network security.
Ideal candidate will play a key role in driving innovation and efficiency.
This project will involve the development within network security to automate our tasks and improve our firewall monitoring.
The team runs Agile and collaborates as a team around tasks, we place a high value on cross-functional collaboration, working closely together to deliver secure solutions.
