Job Description:

Pay Range: $31.08hr - $33.08hr

Techniques:
  • Laboratory-scale unit operations related to biopharmaceutical manufacturing (preculture, cell culture, harvest, bioreactors, columns, mixing (up to 5L)m Spectroscopy, PAT sensors, infrared and Raman spectroscopy.
  • Cell Culture experience, coursework in analytical chemistry, biology, physical chemistry, and statistics Emerging Technologies, Candidateufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) is currently looking for a Scientist to support laboratory operations in a sandbox innovation laboratory to support pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • The candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments designed to evaluate new manufacturing process technology for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experiments also include the use of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) sensors to replace traditional QC lab testing.
  • The candidate will support small scale manufacturing unit operations (i.e. bioreactors, mixing tanks, columns, etc.).
  • The candidate will also be responsible for summarizing and auditing data as part of notebook protocols in several different data systems.
  • The candidate will also support laboratory operation functions that includes overseeing equipment maintenance, calibration, laboratory safety inspections, equipment qualification and work instructions, and consumable point of use purchase orders.
  • Qualified candidates must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Written communications in the form of reports, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations are required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • 0-5 years experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Setup reduced scale biotherapeutic unit operations.
  • Preculture from vial to wavebag.
  • Daily offline sampling of preculture and cell culture.
  • Basic bioreactor operation (daily sampling, calibration of pH, DO, and PAT sensors).
  • Set up and tear down of bioreactors.
  • Setup for other unit operations (i.e. harvest filtration, downstream purification columns) as appropriate.
  • Summarize data in electronic notebook.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments from notebook protocols under guidance of scientists.
  • Perform laboratory operation functions under direction of scientist that includes overseeing equipment maintenance, calibration, laboratory safety inspections, equipment qualification and work instructions, and consumable point of use purchase orders.
