We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. What will you make today?

As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we're constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.

In this position...

You will apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.

What you'll do...
  • Participate in root cause analysis of machine issues with the production and maintenance teams.
  • Support manufacturing process engineering activity during new product launches or capacity expansions.
  • Manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with guidance on priority to meet established deadlines.
  • Apply engineering principles to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Lead development of interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D methodology and structured problem-solving tools.
  • Lead and conduct process audits such as machine capabilities, dynamic control plans, annual cycle checks, etc. to ensure process discipline is consistent with guidelines.
  • Analyze process bottleneck root causes; engage in constraint management and process optimizations.
  • Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes.
  • Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices.
  • Lead and present process optimizations to team and plant management.
  • Work cooperatively and supportively with a broad range of individuals with different levels of education and experience.
  • Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standards.
  • Support ISO 14001 compliance and support internal ISO auditing and compliance as required.

You'll have...
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 or more years' experience working in a manufacturing environment (internship and coop experience will be considered)
  • Ability to work afternoon shift on 4 crew schedule.

Even better, you may have...
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience with various gear machining processes such as broaching, hobbing, grinding, honing, turning, polishing and automation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Experience with project management, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving skills.
  • Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience.
  • TQM and Kaizen Methods.
  • FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience.
  • Experience with 3D printing capabilities and 3D modeling.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care, parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
