Description
We are looking for a dedicated Help Desk Lead for a client of ours to oversee and optimize IT support operations in a dynamic Microsoft environment. This Contract-to-permanent position is based in Walnut Creek, California, and requires a proactive leader capable of ensuring seamless technology integration, user support, and system maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
The pay is up to $50/hr, and is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor Tier 1 desktop technicians, ensuring timely and effective resolutions for technical issues.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for escalated desktop and help desk inquiries, including hardware and software diagnostics.
Administer, maintain, and support key Microsoft systems such as Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange, and SharePoint.
Create and deploy corporate desktop images while managing Endpoint Central Cloud for system packaging and distribution.
Deliver comprehensive end-user training and develop online knowledge base articles to enhance IT literacy across the organization.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee invoicing in alignment with company standards.
Conduct preventive maintenance for desktop systems and ensure optimal functionality for servers and integrated devices.
Utilize remote support tools like TeamViewer and Endpoint Central Cloud to assist users effectively, including coaching them through technical processes.
Maintain inventory and asset management systems, ensuring accurate tracking of software licenses and deployed hardware.
Provide 24/7 on-call support as required, addressing urgent IT issues promptly.
Key Skills:
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in desktop support within a managed Windows environment.
Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, managing IT support teams.
Proficiency in Windows 11 installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and earlier versions, including troubleshooting and user support.
Experience with network printer setup, configuration, and debugging.
Advanced skills in diagnosing and repairing PC hardware and software issues.
Familiarity with corporate antivirus solutions such as Malwarebytes and endpoint update systems like Endpoint Central Cloud.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field is preferred.
