Trust Accountant

Position Details:

Title: Trust Accounting Analyst

Duration: 9-month contract (potential to convert)

Location: Halifax Dartmouth NS B3B1Y1

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am 3:00pm (possibility to shift to 7:00am 3:30pm once trained)

Hybrid work model: Hybrid- 3x/week in office.

Compensation: $30-$32.8/hour

Interview Process: 1-round panel interview Virtual

Day to Day:

• Perform daily account reconciliations and document exceptions


• Analyze and report on short-term cash flow forecasts (not heavy accounting, more finance ops focus)


• Handle wire/account transfers based on daily projections


• Prepare reports for management, treasury, and corporate teams


• Work heavily in Excel and Oracle Financials (though most work will be in custom system)


• Liaise with Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders


• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in Canada, US, and UK

Must Haves:

• Post-secondary education in Finance/Accounting


• 1+ years of accounting/reconciliation/internal control experience


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, lookups, formatting)


• Detail-oriented, curious, organized, and can meet tight deadlines


• Able to work independently and take initiative

Pluses:

• Enrolled in CPA program or equivalent designation (understanding of SOC1/SOX)


• Experience in trust, segregated funds, or fund accounting


• Familiarity with Oracle Financials or other ERP systems


• Previous exposure to Corporate or Internal Audit


• Prior supervisory/leadership experience
