Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior OCI Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of the target Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment to support the migration of the Organization s PeopleSoft applications. This role requires expertise in OCI architecture, networking, security, and performance optimization, ensuring a seamless migration and stable production environment post-go-live.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess current PeopleSoft infrastructure, integrations, and workloads to define OCI target architecture.
  • Design and configure OCI services including compute, storage, networking, identity & access management (IAM), and security controls.
  • Develop cloud migration strategies, including rehosting/replatforming approaches tailored for PeopleSoft environments.
  • Collaborate with PeopleSoft Technical Leads, DBAs, and other project team members to align infrastructure with application requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with security, performance, and disaster recovery standards.
  • Optimize OCI resources for cost efficiency, scalability, and high availability.
  • Provide technical guidance during migration execution, testing, and validation.
  • Prepare documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for agency staff.
  • Support knowledge transfer, training, and post-migration operational readiness.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 8+ years of IT infrastructure/architecture experience, with at least 3+ years in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Hands-on expertise in OCI services: compute, block/object storage, networking (VCNs, load balancers, VPN/DRG), and IAM/security.
  • Experience with cloud migration projects, preferably involving ERP systems such as PeopleSoft.
  • Strong background in performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of database migration approaches (e.g., RMAN, GoldenGate, Data Pump) and integration with PeopleSoft workloads.
  • Familiarity with cloud governance, monitoring (Oracle Cloud Monitoring, Logging), and cost optimization practices.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work across technical and functional teams.
  • OCI certifications (e.g., OCI Architect Professional) preferred.
