Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Workday HCM Techno-Functional Consultant to support and enhance our HR technology landscape. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of functional expertise across Core HR, Payroll, and Benefits and technical proficiency in Integrations and Reporting. This role will partner with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to deliver effective Workday solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, and employee experience. Experience working with Higher Education or University clients is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary techno-functional expert for Workday HCM modules including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Integrations, and Reporting.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate them into effective Workday configurations.
- Configure Workday business processes, security roles, and calculated fields to meet organizational needs.
- Design, build, and maintain Workday integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- Develop and optimize Workday Reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and BIRT) for analytical and operational purposes.
- Ensure accurate data exchange between Workday and external systems such as payroll vendors, benefits providers, and third-party platforms.
- Support payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and other HR operations through correct configuration and timely issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure smooth functioning of integrations and reports.
- Participate in Workday releases, enhancements, regression testing, and ongoing maintenance.
- Prepare functional and technical documentation, solution design, and user training materials.
- Stay current with Workday updates and recommend best practices or process improvements.
- Provide post-implementation support and continuous optimization of the Workday platform.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HRIS, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM in a techno-functional capacity.
- Expertise in Core HR, Payroll, and Benefits configuration.
- Strong experience with Workday Integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, Web Services).
- Proficiency in Workday Reporting custom, advanced, composite, and BIRT reports.
- Deep understanding of Workday Security, Business Process Framework, and Calculated Fields.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday HCM Core and/or Payroll certification.
- Experience with Workday Prism Analytics.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Exposure to global payroll and benefits integration projects.
