Role Summary

As part of the Autonomy Systems Integration team, you will be fundamental in the successful development and deployment of Rivian's suite of ADAS/Autonomy features. You will be part of the Palo Alto-based System Integration team which works cross-functionally with Rivian SW development teams based locally and throughout Rivian locations around the country. This role is expected to be onsite, with occasional travel required to meet development and testing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for the planning in coordination with mechanical and electrical builds for proof of concepts, rapid prototyping, builds, and deployment of small fleet retrofits of data-collection platforms.
  • Provide comprehensive advanced systems expertise in integrating and bringing architecture changes and component revisions, thus ensuring that new configurations work as expected.
  • Leads as a primary coordinator and owner to ensure software system robustness & assist with advanced technology SW integration with the data-collection fleet
  • Lead the debugging and prioritization of functional issues on the data-collection platforms where the root cause could span any combination of physical, electrical, and software elements.
  • Prioritizes and escalates issues based on their impact on the user and the program.
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the overall health and stability of data collection vehicle software through KPI analysis.
  • Lead the triage of system hardware & software bugs and investigate perceived issues, escalating when appropriate and driving to resolution for the data-collection fleet
  • Hands-on vehicle bring-up of in-house high compute ECUs and full autonomy sensor suite for data collection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience working on automated driving applications.
  • Software development experience. Able to read/debug code, familiar with Git, Jira, and software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Good communication, able to convey both detailed explanations and high-level status updates and know when each is appropriate.
  • Strong knowledge of complex systems and able to plan at the architecture level and deep dive into software development.
  • Strong knowledge of integration of Lidar, Radar, and Camera sensor fusion for data collection.
  • Prior project management experience in complex systems is a plus.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: [$206,500.00 - $258,100.00] (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
