Job Summary
The Digital Signal Processing (DSP) software team works to deliver high-quality audio to far-field voice-controlled systems like the Sky Glass television. The DSP software reads audio from a microphone array, processes the audio through audio enhancement algorithms, performs wake-word detection, and streams the processed audio to the rest of the system for subsequent processing. The signal processing software may run on a dedicated DSP, a DSP embedded in an ARM-based SoC, or on an ARM core.
Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for developing, debugging, and supporting real-time DSP firmware on Comcast and Sky's far-field voice-controlled devices. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and enhancing DSP algorithms. The candidate will be involved in insuring that the audio path is working properly in Comcast's voice-controlled systems. This includes working with the quality assurance group to ensure that test methodologies and techniques are properly designed to ensure that the audio path is working as expected as well as building in test-specific features to support the quality control efforts.
The candidate may become involved with Comcast's WiFi group to work on DSP algorithms targeted at WiFi endpoint localization, motion detection using WiFi, and other WiFi related efforts.
The candidate will have a direct impact on the user's experience when using our far-field voice-control features. Plus, at Comcast we get to become users of our own software as Comcast subscribers.
