At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
The team at New Glenn's Orbital Launch Site is driven by a commitment to safety and teamwork, alongside unparalleled execution and leadership. At LC-36, you will play a crucial role in historic missions and partner with a galaxy-class team that drives New Glenn to new heights! Blue Origin's Road to space lifts off here.
As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will directly impact the future of space flight and help us make progress towards our mission of building the road to space through reusable rockets. As an Orbital Launch Site Manufacturing Specialist you will directly support the technician team to help improve scheduling, performance, efficiency and be responsible for executing projects that further improve our ability to launch. We are seeking a proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Responsibilities:
Work directly with the technician teams (Launch Pad and Flight Hardware) to understand performance, efficiency and blockers
Identify areas of improvement, actions needed and drive initiatives or projects to closure that are needed to improve performance
Actively work with technician teams on performance metrics to improve or generate new insights and measures
Prepare memos, charts and reports to support key reviews with senior leadership
Identify opportunities and lead projects that improve performance, efficiency and quality
Support site leadership with various projects that may include facility upgrades, scheduling, maintenance planning or other high impact initiatives
Lead key business analytics initiatives, as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant field
3+ years of relevant experience supporting launch, testing or manufacturing
Experience leading technical, quality or continuous improvement projects
Experience working with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
Exceptional with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Superb communication skills with a knack for taking complex data and presenting it with exceptional clarity.
Proven ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Desired:
Experience with writing and modifying SQL, Visual Basic, Javascript, or Python programming
Experience directly using Primavera P6 or other Project Management Software
Experience in the commercial space sector
Understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance processes, and industrial equipment
Experience using and developing within Atlassian Confluence and JIRA instances
