The Integrated circuits test development team in Tempe, Arizona is seeking a Principal IC Test Development Engineer to develop precision parametric measurement, dynamic signal analysis, and automated test system software for highly custom analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits.

In this role, you will be involved in all phases of product development, including definition, design for testability, test hardware and software design, hands-on debug, characterization, manufacturing release under a heavily regulated quality and regulatory standard operating procedures. You will be an important part of an experienced test development team whose goal is to deliver the highest quality test application to test ICs for use in live saving medical devices.

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead and owning test system redesign and improvement projects
  • Lead/develop plans, schedules and equipment required for testing Medtronic product during manufacturing
  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
  • Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing standard and special Medtronic devices
  • Support new test system and test application development as a subject matter expert in your area
  • Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
  • Testing, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing site complex issues

Must Haves - Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile and on your resume.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years industry experience with integrated circuits test, design or verification OR an advanced degree and 5+ years industry experience with integrated circuits test, design or verification.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with IC testing, design, verification and debug preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Experience with mixed signal testers required, SPEA, Advantest, and LTX systems preferred.
  • Ability to execute on multi-disciplinary functional excellence project that map to the department, campus and company vision and goals.
  • C, C++ or similar programming languages
  • Understanding of design for testability (DFT) implementation & strategies, capability to provide input to design groups to ensure reliable and accurate production testing is a plus
  • Hands on experience with lab equipment: Oscilloscope, Power Supplies, DVM, etc.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work and contribute in a team based environment
  • Excellent working communication (both written and verbal) and the ability to work with design teams remotely and different geographical locations
  • Experience with production test, yield improvement, cost reduction and quality control
  • Experience working on ultra-low power ASIC testing desired

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$123,200.00 - $184,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
