Associate Navigation Engineer

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring an Associate Navigation Engineer to support the Direct Attack programs in Saint Charles, MO.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Use and update existing navigation models and simulation tools to: Predict navigation performance and develop navigation algorithms
  • Develop test program and utilizing data to improve navigation models and system performance (Navigation models include: GPS, IMU (Accelerometers and Gyroscopes), magnetometers, and other navigation sources)
  • Support evaluation of new navigation sensors (prepare and conduct van tests, lab tests and review collected data)
  • Support flight testing to: Measure/validate navigation performance relative to design requirements and Troubleshoot operational/service anomalies regarding delivered products
  • Collects and analyzes data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
  • Supports project management by preparing and presenting project status data
  • Writes simple sections of proposals to support development of new business
  • Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with common programming languages
  • Experience with developing or using modeling and simulation tools
  • Knowledge of estimation theory (e.g. Kalman filtering)
  • Knowledge of GPS receiver operation
  • Knowledge of inertial navigation
