Overview
Performs and documents the integration, regression, and functional testing of moderately complex systems to ensure compliance with system requirements or use cases by following Navy Federal's established testing practices and policies and utilizing approved testing tools. Writes basic test plans. Assists in the analysis of functional and technical requirements and the creation and editing of test cases for new or modified systems. Detects and documents defects/bugs identified during testing and participates in prioritization. Runs test automation scripts for systems under test.

Performs and documents the integration, regression, and functional testing of moderately complex systems to ensure compliance with system requirements or use cases by following Navy Federal's established testing practices and policies and utilizing approved testing tools. Writes basic test plans. Assists in the analysis of functional and technical requirements and the creation and editing of test cases for new or modified systems. Detects and documents defects/bugs identified during testing and participates in prioritization. Runs test automation scripts for systems under test.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform basic testing during the System Integration Testing phase
- Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication (e.g., progress reports, test documentation, and defect reporting) to support accurate understanding of testing activities
- Create and update basic manual test cases/scripts within approved tools following established standards
- Execute existing manual and automated test cases/scripts
- Document and track defects/bugs, adhering to the defect lifecycle process.
- Participate in project team meetings, collaborating while maintaining alignment with goals and objectives
- Perform basic analysis related to testing impacts on policies, procedures, and product changes
- Participate in basic the System Development Life Cycles activities utilizing SAFe Agile best practices and methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- College/university degree or 1-2 years of experience in technology testing
- Basic technical skills working with various software programs
- Basic knowledge of testing tools, best practices and methodologies
- Working knowledge of various database types
- Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of testing processes, including creating a test plan and opening bugs
- Ability to handle fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines
- Exposure to working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Exposure following Systems Development Life Cycles
- Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
- Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Basic skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
- Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
- Basic knowledge of Navy Federal's services, products, and functions
- Exposure to working in an IT environment
- Basic knowledge of Navy Federal business processes and applications
