Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Sr Systems/ Control Engineer. Will be based in Littleton, MA, reporting to the Product Manager the Sr Systems/ Control Engineer will be working closely with the broader engineering team ensuring JetCool's CDUs excel in predictive data analysis and upset condition response. This role will also lead planning for software upgrades and own the controls roadmap for the CDU product line.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Define and own the system-level specifications for CDU products.
  • Lead the development of system models that characterize both steady-state and transient responses of coolant distribution units.
  • Lead the design of controls architecture and sensing infrastructure for CDUs.
  • Drive the development of controls and sensing algorithms.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for controls, sensing, and software validation.
  • Collaborate with the product team to address controls and sensing-related DFMEA and PFMEA mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze test and performance data to refine control algorithms and update system models.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement and support R&D efforts evaluating future enhancements.
  • Contribute to a strong best-practice culture and help expand foundational knowledge and intellectual property.
  • Lead root cause investigations for system failures.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-collegiate experience working in hardware product development, preferably in the data center cooling, automotive, aerospace, medical, or nuclear industries.
  • Proven ability to develop hardware, control systems, and comprehensive system specifications.
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and support effective software integration.
  • Experience implementing control algorithms in product development.
  • Master's of Science degree, 8+ years of experience, startup experience and familiarity with industrial I/O and automation systems.
  • Proven experience in NPI process participation and/or leadership.
  • Familiarity with data center cooling infrastructure (cooling modules, CDUs, dry coolers, chillers).
  • Proven experience in constructing fluid/thermal system models.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry and regulatory standards related to fluid systems and mechanical engineering.
  • Previous involvement in the development of fluid systems for data center cooling, automotive, medical, or nuclear applications.
  • Publications, patents, or contributions to industry-related conferences or forums.
