GoAhead Solutions has a great opportunity for an Oracle Database Operations Lead in Waukegan, IL. This would be a Six to Twelve month contract to start out with extension. This position is onsite.


Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Database Operations Lead with deep expertise in Oracle Database Administration to manage and oversee database operations within an Application Management Services (AMS) delivery model. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage client expectations and escalations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead and manage day-to-day database operations for Oracle environments across Linux and Windows platforms.
-Oversee AMS delivery operations, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met.
-Perform patching, upgrades, and new database builds for Oracle 19c for both Standalone and RAC type Databases.
-Implement and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring and alerting.
-Manage SAP-related Oracle databases and ensure optimal performance.
-Develop and enforce database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
-Collaborate with application teams for performance tuning and troubleshooting.
-Handle client escalations, provide timely resolutions, and manage expectations.
-Lead and mentor a mid-sized to large DBA team, ensuring skill development and operational excellence.
-Prepare and maintain documentation for processes, standards, and configurations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
-15+ years of Oracle DBA experience, with strong expertise in Oracle 19c and RAC.
-Proven experience in AMS delivery operations.
-Hands-on experience with patching, upgrades, and database builds.
-Proficiency in OEM monitoring tools.
-Experience managing SAP Oracle databases.
-Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms for database administration.
-Good understanding of backup/recovery strategies and high availability solutions (RAC, Data Guard).
-Shell scripting experience for automation (good to have).
-Excellent communication and client management skills.
-Ability to manage escalations and stakeholder expectations.
-Experience leading mid-sized or large DBA teams.
-Strong understanding of ITIL processes and incident/change management.
