Job Title: Application Architect

Location: Remote (Must be a Wisconsin Resident) Preferably Madison, WI

Type: Contract

Duration: 1 Year.

Project Details:

This need is part of the new modernization project at DWD. This is a technical leadership position needed to drive the development and support of the Unemployment Division modernization projects. The projects are but not limited to technical refresh of legacy system, enchancement to Claimant and Employer portals, new functunationaly as defined by bussiness partners, and upgrade of instracture (servers, tools and database) to support UI systems.

Project work will include: application architecture design and development, development of user stories, quarterly planning strategies, product roadmaps, and other key strategic deliverables; selection and review of on premis and cloud tools and technology; code reviews and work item reviews to ensure that they meet the department's technical objectives and are compliant with required security requirements; and in-the-weeds development using a variety of languages and tools.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integration, web development, highly complex online transaction processing (OLTP) and Agile Scrum development methodology.
