Job Details
VDI / O365 / Windows server Engineer
Architect and deploy Omnissa Horizon environments including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways, and App Volumes.
Manage and optimize desktop pools, golden images, and user profile management (e.g., DEM).
Monitor VDI performance and availability using tools such as ControlUp.
Troubleshoot complex VDI issues across networking, storage, and compute layers.
Implement security controls and compliance standards within the VDI environment.
Automate provisioning and maintenance tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
Collaborate with application owners to package and deliver apps via Horizon.
Maintain documentation for VDI architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Lead VDI-related projects including upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
Provide Tier 3 support and participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents.
Participate in costing efforts for projects, providing cost and sizing estimates
Assist server engineering team with minor server support tasks.
Work with desktop engineering team to ensure consistent imaging and software package deployment.
5+ years of experience in desktop virtualization, with at least 3 years focused on Omnissa Horizon.
Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and certificate management.
Experience with profile management tools (e.g., DEM).
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and firewall rules related to VDI access.
Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
VMWare Certified Professional Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM) or equivalent preferred.
Experience with cloud-hosted VDI (e.g., Horizon Cloud on Azure)
Exposure to Zero Trust architecture and endpoint security tools.
Windows server experience a plus.
Knowledge of VMWare is a plus.
