Infrastructure Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Systems Engineer with deep expertise in infrastructure and network architecture. The ideal candidate combines strong technical proficiency with excellent communication and collaboration skills to ensure smooth project execution across complex environments. This role will serve as a primary point of contact for designated projects—coordinating internal resources, resolving issues, and ensuring timely delivery of milestones and support requests.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, scale, and secure enterprise infrastructure across heterogeneous environments including Windows, Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms.

  • Apply modern engineering methodologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and software-defined storage.

  • Implement scalable, automated, and well-documented systems; develop tools and provide operational training to other teams.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues spanning compute, storage, and network layers; lead root cause analyses and implement long-term solutions.

  • Manage client-related technical activities, oversee support tickets, and coordinate cross-functional partners to ensure effective project execution.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage scale and automation to improve system reliability and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or related technical roles.

  • 5+ years of experience automating infrastructure and service management.

  • Strong hands-on experience with configuration management and monitoring tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell DSC, or similar.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go, Rust, Ruby, PHP, or advanced PowerShell.

  • In-depth understanding of Windows/Windows Server internals and Linux systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver features and solutions independently with minimal supervision.

  • Experience installing and configuring container and job orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, Docker, OpenCue, or Slurm.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of maintaining reliable, high-performing infrastructure environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience supporting configuration management across multi-region or large-scale environments.

  • Experience building internal services, PaaS, or private cloud solutions.

  • Familiarity with APIs for system administration, management, and monitoring automation.
