Role: Project Coordinator

Location: Lansing, MI Hybrid

Duration: 12 Months

Interview: MS-Teams/Webex/Video

Interview Process: Virtual Interview via MS Teams video. Please use laptop and be prepared to share screen if asked.

Duration: 1 year with extension likely

Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week.

Position Description:

The State of Michigan is seeking a skilled and organized Project Coordinator to support the planning and execution of complex, large-scale IT initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of project management processes, effective coordination skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, in alignment with

business objectives and enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in coordinating one or more large, complex IT projects, typically lasting longer than 6 months, involving 20 or more team members, and requiring regular communication and coordination with stakeholders at various levels.

- Support adherence to State of Michigan project management methodologies, including SUITE, investment management, and systems engineering methodology.

- Aid in organizing cross-functional teams through all phases of project planning and execution, including the creation of integrated schedules, risk management plans, and budget tracking.

- Track and report on project progress related to scope, quality, schedule, and budget. Highlight any potential issues or risks to senior leadership in a timely manner.

- Assist in planning long-term project milestones and releases to support organizational strategic goals, ensuring alignment with broader enterprise initiatives.

- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand technical requirements, ensuring project activities align with business needs while adhering to SOM best practices and industry standards.

- Help implement structured change management practices, including supporting stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure the successful adoption of project deliverables.

Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement: This position plays a key role in supporting change adoption by:

- Assisting in integrating change management principles from the start of the project.

- Collaborating with stakeholder engagement teams to develop communication plans, facilitate training sessions, and monitor organizational readiness.

- Supporting stakeholders at all levels to reduce resistance, align expectations, and ensure successful long-term user adoption of new systems and processes.
