What Application Development and Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
Legal Regulatory Compliance Government Relations and Quality (LRCGQ) Global Technology Business Services (GTBS) enables technology solutions for the LRCGQ teams at Cardinal Health. The Environmental Compliance program will enable solutions for new regulatory laws being introduced for environmental social governance.

Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate solutions from concept to completion for multiple business processes within LRCGQ with a concentration on environmental compliance.
- Work directly with the vendors on possible solutions and implementations.
- Act as a Solution Owner responsible to manage the scope and deliverables of multiple projects leveraging software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Conduct the requirements elicitation process and ensure solution delivery meets business requirements while leveraging existing solution capabilities wherever possible.
- Maintain relationships with Compliance and Regulatory business process leads and user groups.
- Build processes to maintain solutions long-term.
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
- Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
- Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
- Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards.
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading cross functional teams and IT projects.
- Prior experience working with a SaaS provider is recommended.
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years experience in related field preferred
- Ability to define work processes and lead team members in successful implementation and ongoing execution
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Desire to learn about environmental, social, and governance
