The Opportunity

The People Analytics Consultant role will work with HR & business stakeholders and the leadership to leverage People data to inform and enhance decision-making. This position will utilize data analysis methodologies, tools, and approaches to provide insights. The individual must be highly data driven, technically proficient, creative, detail-oriented, proactive, intellectually curious, strong consultant and an effective communicator. This role requires a strong passion for strategy, talent management and data analytics.

The Team

The People Analytics team works closely with stakeholders and partners across the company to deliver insights and influence decisions regarding MassMutual's human capital to enable it to achieve its strategy. The team brings together a diverse team of experts across HR, data science, DEI and systems that works together to deliver analysis and recommendations related to the management of Human Capital. This role will report to the Head of People Analytics & Listening

The Impact

This individual will be responsible for translating business strategy and objectives into analytics priorities, communicating the analytics findings to shape people strategy, business decisions, and solve high-value problems. Responsibilities include:
  • Consult with HR & business stakeholders to understand their business objectives, people issues, and data needs.
  • Analyze and interpret data using statistical and qualitative methods, such as regression, correlation, cluster analysis, thematic analysis, and sentiment analysis.
  • Prepare and present clear and compelling reports and dashboards that communicate key findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement data-driven solutions and monitor their impact.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in people analytics and human resources.
  • Converts datasets into insights that support the design, delivery, and measure the impact of HR and overall people strategy.
  • Gathers qualitative and quantitative data from a multitude of internal sources to inform insights, results, and the employee experience.
  • Understands and builds metrics aligned to business outcomes related to delivery, utilization, and workforce planning.
  • Partner with the team to maintain high data quality and integrity standards, and regularly review and maintain the team's productionized data products to ensure ongoing quality and functionality.
  • Own and maintain access to dashboards and other data products, ensuring that the right users have access to appropriate data.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as economics, I/O Psychology, statistics, MIS or human resources
  • At least 5 years of experience in people analytics, human resources, or Management consulting
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SPSS, R, Python, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

Ideal Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Passionate about using data and analytics to improve people and organizational outcomes.
  • Experience with HR technology across various categories such as commission, workforce planning, employee engagement, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal and visual), and analytical skills are needed.
  • Demonstrated success in building trusted relationships with internal/external clients and customers.
  • A drive to do what it takes to get the job done, including taking on different roles and responsibilities and adapting to changing environments.
