Job Summary:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst (BA) with strong healthcare domain knowledge to support the development and optimization of Preferred Drug List (PDL) solutions.
- The ideal candidate will bridge business needs and technical capabilities, ensuring that PDL initiatives are data- driven, compliant, and aligned with stakeholder goals.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare or pharmacy domains.
- Familiarity with PDL, formulary management systems, and drug classification standards
Detailed Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements for PDL- related initiatives, including formulary updates, coding workflows, and supplemental rebate processes.
- Analyze current and proposed PDL workflows (e.g., coding file generation, FMT integration, NDC updates) and recommend improvements for efficiency and compliance.
- Use SQL and reporting tools to analyse drug utilization, market share trends, and rebate impacts.
- Support the creation of reports such as the NDC PDL Detail Report, Sura/Dura reports, and Market Share Reports.
- Act as a liaison between business, clinical, and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and deliverables. Translate complex data and regulatory concepts into actionable insights.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with federal/state regulations (e.g., CMS, HIPAA) and internal standards. Maintain traceability matrices and support audit readiness.
- Assist in defining test cases and validating outputs for PDL coding files, pricing updates, and rebate reports.
- Participate in system-level testing and system integration testing (SIT) to ensure quality and compliance of delivered solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare or pharmacy domains.
- Familiarity with PDL, formulary management systems, and drug classification standards (e.g., NDC, RxNorm).
- Strong SQL and Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP), supplemental rebate workflows, and pricing methodologies (e.g., NADAC, MAC).
- Knowledge of tools like FMT (Formulary Management Tool), Databricks, and Unity Catalog.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data pipeline concepts.
- Ability to interpret RFPs and regulatory documents for business impact.
- Experience with system-level testing and system integration testing (SIT), including test planning and defect tracking.
Work Environment:
- Remote-first with flexibility for in-office collaboration.
- Occasional evening/weekend work may be required for critical releases or stakeholder meetings.
