The Cybersecurity Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for protecting our digital assets and strengthening our cybersecurity posture. This position operates at the operational level and focuses on executing technical controls, responding to threats, and managing enterprise security tools rather than leading teams or driving architecture strategy.
This role requires practical experience in working directly with security technologies, performing active monitoring, investigating incidents, and supporting continuous security improvement efforts across hybrid infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on configuration, tuning, and maintenance of security platforms, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Netskope.
- Monitor networks, systems, and applications to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats and suspicious activity.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain detection logic, threat intelligence feeds, and automated alerting rules across SIEM and EDR platforms.
- Actively investigate security alerts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement remediation steps in a timely manner.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support technical remediation efforts in collaboration with infrastructure and application teams.
- Assist in ensuring security across cloud environments, particularly within Microsoft Azure, by applying security best practices and leveraging native security tools.
- Contribute to compliance efforts related to standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 through technical security controls and reporting.
- Support internal audits and third-party assessments by providing evidence and context related to technical security measures.
- Maintain and test incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as part of ongoing operational support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience.
- Strong experience with enterprise security platforms, including: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Netskope (required) Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls SIEM and EDR tools
- Experience implementing and securing workloads in Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of core security concepts: threat detection, incident response, network security, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
- Experience conducting or supporting technical incident response and forensic investigations.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly document and communicate findings.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
