MS SQL Server DBA

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a MS SQL Server DBA in Westlake, TX.

Key Tasks:
* Establish database standards for operations, upgrades, migrations and onboarding new applications and/or clients
* Participate in 24X7 on call rotation schedule for various production support, database maintenance, housekeeping and installs
* Work with enterprise teams for Systems Administrators, Cyber Security and Capacity Planning groups as and when situation demands
* Setting up and configuring SQL Server instances, databases, and related components
* Routine maintenance on SQL Server databases such as backups, restores, and patching

REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or equivalent desirable
* Significant experience with Cloud related systems such as Azure and AWS and supporting SQL Server Databases on Cloud Platforms
* Experience with SQL Server related data tools and other Microsoft support systems such as Visual Studio
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Transact SQL Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), Clusters, Linux shell scripting, Windows PowerShell Scripting, Batch Processing
* Previous experience in Enterprise Financial Firm IT
* Strong time leadership skills with willingness and ability to prioritize multiple projects/initiatives at the same time
* Self-motivated with strong team, interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as maintaining a flexible attitude are a must
* Ability to develop and drive database administration strategies and initiatives as per the needs of the team
* Database support in all phases of SDLC and agile experience is preferred
* Strong Linux shell scripting experience preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
