Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to lead enterprise system enhancements, solution architecture, application development, and knowledge transfer activities for a major government technology project.
Location: Hybrid (onsite 3 days/week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead solution architecture and system analysis for complex enterprise applications.
- Facilitate design sessions (JAR/JAD) with business and technical stakeholders.
- Analyze, triage, and resolve system issues; recommend and develop technical solutions.
- Perform expert-level Java (J2EE) development, code reviews, and peer mentoring.
- Support testing activities, including system integration and user acceptance testing.
- Create and maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct structured knowledge transfer and cross-training with internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and project methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- 20+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture and systems integration.
- 20+ years of experience as a Solution Architect aligning technical solutions with business processes.
- 15+ years of experience evaluating and recommending software frameworks.
- 20+ years of Java (J2EE), JSP/Servlets, JavaScript, JDBC, and Oracle WebLogic development.
- 20+ years of experience with Oracle databases, PL/SQL, and SQL.
- 10+ years incorporating new technologies into enterprise environments.
- 5+ years (within last 10 years) experience with JIRA, Bitbucket, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Confluence.
- Cloud experience (AWS and/or Azure) in database environments preferred.
- Public sector experience (especially pension or retirement systems) highly desirable.
Additional Requirements:
- Consultant must supply their own equipment unless otherwise required.
- Completion of security awareness training prior to start.
- Must pass applicable security and confidentiality verifications.
