Job Description

Protecting what matters most is the mission that matters most.

Ready for a challenge at the speed of Hypersonics?

Come join Lockheed's Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) team. Our system will travel at Mach 5 (over a mile per second). Helping us create build a system that goes that fast means overcoming a number of difficult physics and engineering challenges. You will be integrating hypersonic missile technology into an Army battery on a highly accelerated schedule to deliver a hypersonic operational prototype system to the Warfighter. LRHW will be capable of flying at 5x the speed of sound and will provide a timely response to varying threat scenarios. If this intrigues you, come join our LRHW team. Lockheed Martin is looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer to become a member of the Systems Design and Integration Team.

As a Reliability Engineer on the LRHW team, you will support the Systems Engineering (SE) Special Disciplines Reliability Organization. You will directly work with many engineering disciplines to ensure that program product designs meet customer reliability, Built-In Test (BIT), availability, service life, and reliability growth requirements. You will support efforts in the areas of reliability, maintainability, availability, testability, and reliability growth by providing reliability allocations, reliability analysis, BIT analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMECA), reliability critical items, reliability growth planning, and Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).

In this role your responsibilities will include:

Working with a geographically dispersed team while maintaining self-accountability and flexibility. Interacting directly with government customer, supply chain authorities, and management.
Applying, maintaining, and executing the Reliability program plan
Working along with Domain Experts in various fields, performing analyses at all levels of the total system product over its life cycle, from concept, through production and up to disposal
Interpreting system requirements and allocating in reliability models
Performing or assisting in trade studies, technical planning, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Developing reliability predictions using approved prediction methodologies for mechanical/ordnance components, systems, and support equipment.
Supporting design reviews as required and presenting reliability results to management and customer.
Reviewing and approving engineering drawing changes from a reliability focus.

Successful applicants will typically have at minimum a Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of related professional work experience.
