Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize Oracle WebLogic Server environments in both on-prem and cloud (OCI) contexts.
  • Perform WebLogic upgrades to the latest supported versions (e.g., 14.x).
  • Automate WebLogic domain creation, configuration, and deployments using WLST (WebLogic Scripting Tool).
  • Containerize WebLogic applications using Docker and orchestrate them via Kubernetes.
  • Manage WebLogic domains using the WebLogic Kubernetes Operator, including domain resource configuration and lifecycle events.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable Docker networking for clustered WebLogic environments.
  • Deploy and manage infrastructure on OCI and/or on-prem, including use of Kubernetes (OKE preferred).
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions, or OCI DevOps for seamless deployment and updates.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to support operational excellence.
  • Maintain documentation and provide knowledge transfer to teams as needed.

Required Skills

  • Mandatory: 7+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic Server administration.
  • Mandatory: Proven expertise in WLST scripting for automating WebLogic tasks (domain creation, deployments, configurations).
  • Mandatory: Experience with WebLogic version upgrades (e.g., 11g/12c to 14.x).
  • Proficiency with Docker, container networking, and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience managing WebLogic domains via WebLogic Kubernetes Operator.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, automation, and configuration management.
  • Scripting skills (WLST, Shell, Python) and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with both on-prem infrastructure and OCI platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying and managing workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), especially using OKE.
  • OCI certifications (e.g., Architect Associate, DevOps Professional) and Weblogic Administration Certification
  • Experience with Helm, ingress controllers, and Kubernetes networking.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OCI Monitoring, or ELK.
  • Understanding of security practices for WebLogic, containers, and hybrid environments.
