Title : Digital Product Owner

Location: Peoria IL or Chicago IL will sit onsite 1 day a week.

His teams product they support is CAT Foresight. This product owner will support 2 products.

Role Overview:

This is a Global Digital Product Owner role focused on managing the development and support of the CAT Foresight CVA and Planned Maintenance products. The role involves providing day-to-day support to design and development teams, Cat Foresight users, and field service staff in relation to product implementation, customization, questions, and problems. Cat Foresight is a digital product tool suite of operational technologies focused on enabling lead generation services and fleet/equipment management services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Close collaboration and active engagement with digital product managers, Cat Foresight users, development teams, and CAT Digital Support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve user workflow, user experience, and user-driven innovations.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and UI changes.
  • Support prioritization of product backlog features.
  • Enable user adoption and growth.
  • Drive the development timeline of product strategic roadmap, continuous improvement, and integration features.
  • Provide proactive support to drive timely product quality improvements.
  • Identify and document bug features.
  • Provide Tier 2 level hand-up support

Team Interaction:

  • Currently, the team consists of 3 members (2 product managers and 1 product owner).
  • Interaction with development teams, product managers, dealers, and potential internal business partners.
  • Within the development team, there are application developers, UI/UX designers, and platform developers

Must-Haves

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (IT-related degree) with 10+ years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Bachelor's or Master's in IT Field
  • 10+ years of experience

Technical Skills:

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Software Change Request Management: Extensive knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff
  • Software Problem Management: Working knowledge of strategies, practices, and tools for resolving software problems; ability to manage software problems in installed software products
  • Software Product Business Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Extensive knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools, and techniques; ability to design, implement, and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users
  • Cat Digital familiarity: Huge plus
  • Familiarity with AI technologies
  • Waterfall and agile development
  • Experience designing user experience and workflows
  • Writing business and technical requirements
  • User acceptance testing: Ability to read different code to understand where potential problems will be
  • Dealer experience
  • Product owner experience with developers

Soft Skills:

  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Effective Communications: Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Must be able to work with offshore team
  • Has demonstrated to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Great communication skills
  • Design and creation of user workflow diagrams

Disqualifiers/Red Flags:

  • Choppy tenure.
  • Lack of progressive experience in a similar capacity
