Combustion Product Service Engineer

Job Description Summary
The Combustion Product Service Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering technical expertise of the installed base of heavy-duty gas turbine Combustion systems. This position will solve complex technical issues for our customers, deliver and drive root cause analyses, and communicate technical issues at customer meetings.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Engineering support of installed base of Gas Turbine (GT) Combustion systems
• Work with commercial, design, and customer teams to provide issue resolution for gas turbine combustion systems. This involves applying Engineering techniques and processes to develop solutions and ensuring that specific issues are resolved in terms of accuracy, quality, and timeliness to meet customer needs and business goals.
• Provide engineering support to the Field Services teams during planned outages.
• Prepare technical presentations for Customers and Senior Leadership: User conferences, webinars, or other customer technical reviews.
• Develop technical information letters (TILs or ETCs) to provide clear and accurate communications to GT customers with respect to technical issues, risk, and our recommendations to resolve
• Apply engineering skills, experience, and tools to solve a field failure through Root Causes Analysis (RCA) on Gas Turbine Combustion systems.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being addressed.
• Interface with external and internal suppliers to identify the most cost-effective solution that meets customer's request.
• Travel to customer locations in support of commercial teams during unplanned/forced outages and customer technical review meetings.
• Work with design and development teams to successfully introduce new products.
• Participate in Lean Action Workouts and lead Kaizen projects to improve internal Product Service processes and support continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

• B.S degree in relevant Engineering discipline
• Candidates should have 1-3 years of relevant experience
• This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics

• Edison Engineer; Completion of ALJ, ENGAGE, Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate

Additional Information

• This role will accommodate progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or C-Course project; Limited travel/overtime required; One hour a week per credit hour (maximum 6 hrs per week) can be vouchered

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, The base pay range for this position is $79,400.00 - 119,000.00 USD per year.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
