Role Overview:
A leading technology company is seeking a Junior Engineering Lab Technician to assist in optimizing the performance of next-generation servers for cloud and enterprise customers. In this hands-on role, you will support a team of performance architects focused on enhancing workload efficiency related to throughput and latency by identifying optimization opportunities across the entire system architecture including applications, frameworks, virtual machines, operating systems, hypervisors, network and storage drivers, BIOS, CPU cores, memory, and I/O subsystems.
The team is looking for a junior technician who is comfortable with server assembly, hardware operation, software installation, and hardware troubleshooting/repair. Responsibilities include racking, stacking, and maintaining servers, as well as installing hardware components such as processors, memory, storage devices, and NICs on both rackmount and benchtop systems.

Key Requirements:
(At least 1 year of demonstrated ability in each of the following):
- Team oriented - Candidate is willing to work in a team environment, take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
- Follow Instructions, SOPs - Interpret and follow standard operating procedures well.
- Computer hardware installation - Must be able to install and remove CPUs, memory, peripherals, and storage media (e.g., SSDs, NVMe, NICs, etc.).
- Flashing system firmware stack - Flash firmware on systems via remote management system or programming tool. i.e., BIOS, FPGA FW, VR FW
- Good understanding of Linux and Windows Server - Must know how to install various Linux and Windows OS versions. Also, must be familiar with navigating the OS file system, list hardware components and configure network interfaces
Preferred Attributes:
Experience setting up/configuring/debugging network infrastructure in lab environments
Familiarity with automated testing or server cluster configuration
Experience supporting multiple server systems
Education:
Associate s degree in Computer Technology or related field
3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience
