Senior Business Analyst (SAFe Agile/Scrum)

 

Position Overview: The Senior Business Analyst provides business analysis and project management leadership of complex solutions across multiple application development teams supporting the company’s shipment movement or other business function systems. 

This role works collaboratively to support their team(s), business partners, and other IT support functions, ensuring work products produced by the team meet requirements, are delivered on-time, and comply with the company’s SDLC and architecture guidance. The Senior Business Analyst also works with other business analysts to evaluating business opportunities and to translate complex business concepts into intuitive terminology and solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

Mentor others on program/project management and governance best practices

Lead multiple medium/complex corporate programs and projects within and across various applications and projects teams  

Use PMI or Agile methodologies to lead activities, including the development of project schedules, status reporting, issue management, and other required tasks

Lead the development and execution of test scripts

Manage and monitor a program or project effectively through to successful completion (on time, within budget, adhering to high quality standards, and meeting customer expectations)

Track project spending against budgets 

Work and negotiate complex business functions and requirements with technical and nontechnical coworkers to accomplish company goals

Ensure all project deliverables and the creation and review of documentation comply with the company’s global development process 

Work with solution architects to define and incorporate long term architecture goals throughout the SDLC

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate

Conduct all business in a highly ethical manner, exhibiting behavior, practices, and standards that uphold the company’s core values 

Perform other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

Ideally ten years of qualifying work experience in information technology or business environment 

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or business administration and/or equivalent formal training or work experience

Application development, project management, or business analysis experience

Excellent written and oral communication skills for engaging at all levels, including senior leadership

Proven collaboration and interpersonal skills

Proven analytical skills on projects in complex scales

Availability to travel when needed

 

Other Skills / Abilities: 

Understanding and/or formal training on Agile roles, principles, and methodologies 

Experience in an Agile environment

Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner experience

PMI-ACP or PMP certification is a plus
