JOB SUMMARY
The Product Support Engineer IV is a senior member of the PTS Engineering Services team, responsible for a wide range of technical functions supporting in-service operations of Panasonic Avionics' IFEC systems. This role leads and supports engineering services, process improvement, and cross-functional initiatives that may include technical publications, rack systems, specialized tooling, repair support, and other operational projects. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong project management skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset to drive operational efficiency, service quality, and long-term business growth.

The salary or hourly wage range of $97,000 - $162,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

JOB SUMMARY

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Guidance
- Act as a senior technical lead for complex engineering support initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Field Support, Engineering, and Product Management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for PAC IFEC products and support practices, providing guidance to teams outside the Engineering Services organization.
- Support the resolution of technical issues by enabling field teams with accurate documentation, effective tooling, and timely engineering guidance.
- Support department readiness for new product introduction through contributions to documentation, tooling, and process development.
- Contribute to repair support activities by reviewing practices, improving documentation, and enabling data-driven insights that inform product and repair strategies.
- Promote and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, including the development of knowledge bases, technical training programs, and on-the-job learning opportunities.
Project Management
- Own the definition, production, and delivery of solutions developed by PTS Engineering Services to support in-service operations.
- Drive IFE rack development projects by coordinating cross-functional tasks, providing technical guidance, and contributing to hands-on production activities as needed.
- Manage and support technical projects and maintenance activities at Panasonic facilities, customer sites, or remotely.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration efforts (with Program Management, Engineering, Field Support teams, and others) to ensure alignment on service delivery, support strategies, and operational priorities.
- Guide cross-functional teams in executing support tasks consistently and efficiently, ensuring alignment with evolving operational goals and engineering standards.
- Communicate clear, timely updates and technical input through appropriate channels to keep stakeholders informed.
Process & Tooling Enhancement
- Contribute to the development and improvement of systems, processes, and tools that enhance technical operations, team efficiency, and service quality across the organization.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of processes and work instructions to reflect evolving practices and organizational goals.
- Own the creation and continuous improvement of technical documentation to support engineering services, production, and maintenance activities.
- Lead initiatives to improve the maintainability of PAC IFEC systems, including enhancements to documentation, tooling, and support processes.

What We're Looking For:
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Deep technical knowledge of In-Flight Entertainment systems and/or avionics, including the ability to apply engineering principles to support, troubleshoot, and improve system performance.
- Strong engineering judgment, with the ability to develop and refine procedures that guide effective decision-making and task execution.
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills across hardware, software, and integrated systems.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, coordinate resources, maintain effective stakeholder communication, and drive timely execution of engineering and support deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex technical information across internal teams, external partners, and customer stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite; familiarity with project management and documentation tools is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of global civil aviation regulations and requirements relevant to IFEC systems, maintenance, and repair.
- A high degree of initiative, ownership, and accountability in delivering engineering outcomes.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills, with the ability to support the development of less experienced engineers.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, aviation maintenance, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance, avionics, or technical field support, with a strong background in IFEC systems.
- Proven experience leading multiple concurrent cross-functional engineering projects, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage complexity, and drive results.
- A&P or other regulatory certifications are a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Up to 20% travel may be required to support on-site engineering activities, customer engagements or field operations.
- Working hour flexibility to support a global 24/7 organization.
